In 2001, my husband Chris Wilson and I were fortunate to become residents of Eden Prairie. I am the youngest of eight children and daughter of a veteran who served in both WWII and Korea. I was born and raised in Coventry, Connecticut and graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with majors in Spanish and Business. My career in finance led me to San Diego where I met my husband, Chris Wilson, who was a naval aviator stationed on board the USS Independence. When Chris finished his tour with the Navy, he was offered a job at Sico, Inc., a manufacturing facility based in Edina, Minnesota. We relocated to one of Sico's offices outside of Sydney, Australia. During this time, I volunteered with several nonprofit organizations, one of which was Meals on Wheels. When Chris was transferred to Sico's corporate headquarters in Edina, we chose Eden Prairie as our new home.
Eden Prairie has been a very welcoming and inclusive community from the beginning, and I have enjoyed serving on the City Council for the last four years and in the nonprofit arena for over two decades.
I returned to school in 2018 and obtained a 3-year graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management from Harvard University. The education and cohort provided insight into aspects that have been of value to the local nonprofits I serve. In addition to volunteering, I enjoy traveling, hiking, knitting and baking. I have entered in the baking competition at the Minnesota State Fair for the last few years, winning four ribbons along the way!
